There is no longer any possibility to deny that the United States is devolving before our very eyes into the murderous, fascist police-state that American politicians have always pretended to oppose in foreign affairs (the former Soviet Union, the Russian Federation, China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, ad infinitum), never mind that in most instances the repressive regimes were imposed upon the countries in opposition to the democratically elected previous governments (Chile, East Timor, Iran, Honduras, Afghanistan, ad infinitum).
ICE, the MAGAt iteration of the Nazi brownshirts, are not only openly repressing civilians and kidnapping, without warrant or cause, people who look too brown (still harassing the actual indigenous because of this) and sending them off to the torture chambers of the repressive states that the U.S. has helped install. This has now gone far beyond these unconstitutionally illegal tactics and has quickly drifted into shooting with abandon, at least 16 documented so far, and cold blooded murder. Two people were shot the very next day following the state sanctioned murder of Renee Good, and that followed the previous murder of innocent civilians in the streets that are now reaching into the double digits, and these don't even include the now more than 32 deaths in ICE detention during 2025 and still counting, tying the Bush/Cheney record set in 2004.
No only is the MAGAt executive refusing to condem these blatant murders, and not only are they justifying them and telling us that what is clearly recorded and we've all seen, isn't what actually happened, but even more egregiously they are using them as a means of the white-christian-supermacist propaganda that is now being implemented for DHS recruitment, ICE recruitment is clearly absorbing hundreds of the MAGAt insurrectionists Trump was sure to pardon on his very first day. ICE agents are in the streets threatening innocent civilians with the example of Renee's murder, ICE asking a civilian if they "did not learn from what just happened? They're not even trying to hide the fact, they're advertising it and brandishing it as a piece of violence in and of itself.
This is not to even leave the bloody domestic events. After Trump's openly flouting of international law, hence United States law, by indiscriminately murdering what only appear to be and can only be presumed to be, as no evidence has been offered, fishers in small fishing boats off the coast of Venezuela (murdering them to the last one lest there be any evidence of their innocence), and boasting that international law doesn't apply to him with regards to seizing oil tankers like the pirate he and his MAGAts is and are. To attempt to initiate another invasion and occupation of a nonhostile state by kidnapping its President without any domestic or international legal authority, not even bothering to inform Congress, which has the war powers to, (another piece of the MAGAts ongoing destruction of democratic governance for the establishment of a fascist dictatorship). Removing Venezuelan President Maduro, in the process murdering 100 Venezuelans, for what is openly advertised as stealing Venezuelan oil, cannot possibly be successful. The first attempt to install a client state in Venezuela by kidnapping Hugo Chavez failed, and so too will be the attempt by kidnapping Nicholas Maduro, who was Chavez's vice President and took office after his death. No invasion force can possibly pasify the entire country and already the paramilitary colectivos are patrolling the streets in search of Americans and potential clandestine subversive operations There wasn't even the bold faced lying pretense of WMDs and democracy promotion, but rather the open celebration of kidnapping for the purpose of stealing oil, for which purpose he hosted American oil executives in order to flesh out a plan to steal and put to use Venezuelan oil. The oil executives said in short, no Venezuela is "uninvestable".
Trump's flouting the notion of war with Venezuela is as unwinnable as his equally idiotic flouting the notion of war with Iran would be unwinnable. Trying to go to war with one of the BRICS nations is as dangerously reckless as can be by itself, but to go to war with two is unimaginable in the magnitude of disaster it will cause. This along with his idiotic takeover of Greenland which is a territory of Denmark, a member of NATO, is to further destroy NATO relations, something that Putin has wanted for decades now. And all of this to distract away from the ongoing fight to get the MAGAts to follow the law and release the Epstein Files in full without the redactions that are clearly protecting Trump, Epstein's biggest friend, and his friends from being exposed as participants in the largest, most heinous human trafficking ring of children.
This is all indicating that the morbid corporate-state-capitalism of the United States is reaching the zenith that leaves but two options. The graveyard that fascism thrives in lording over, or the sensible social democracy that raises the floor for all of the citizenry. These two diametrically antagonistic forces are clearly at play, on the one hand the MAGAt fascism, and on the other the democratic socialism espoused by the likes of Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Zohran Mamdani, and the hundreds of thousands who lift such political leaders to governance.
We are now left to chose between the two options of, to paraphrase Rosa Luxemburg, "socialism or barbarism."
